PUBLIC IMAGE LTD (P.I.L.) est un groupe anglais de post-punk, noise rock et new wave créé à Londres en 1978 par JOHN LYDON (chant, né le 31/01/1956 à Londres, ex-SEX PISTOLS), KEITH LEVENE (guitare/synthés, né le 18/07/1957 à Londres, ex-THE CLASH), JAH WOBBLE (basse, né JOHN WARDLE en 1958 à Londres) et JIM WALKER (batterie, né à Vancouver au Canada).
